What is in the book
The Guestbook is built for Murfreesboro In Motion, and every part of it exists because of something that already happens in that room on a Monday.
- 01The doorType two letters of your name, tap it, glance at your ask, and you are in. First timers fill it out once and never again. In the live book you pick your own password that first Monday and your phone stays signed in, so every Monday after is one tap. There is no app to download.
- 02The room this morningA page of faces. Everyone who signed in, with a tappable phone number, an email, and the line about who to send them set underneath like a yearbook quote. You remember what somebody looked like, so this is the page that finds them.
- 03One person, and their shout outsTap a face and you get their number, their email, and what everybody who has actually worked with them says about it. If you worked with them too, you add yours and your name goes on it.
- 04Your follow-up listOne tap on somebody's page puts them here with their number. Private. Not the room, not Amanda, just you and the people you meant to call.
- 05Past MondaysEvery meeting keeps its own page forever. Somebody described a guy who does gutters and nobody caught his name, and he is still in here in March.
- 06Buy the coffeeEight Mondays. Claim one and the room knows the coffee was on you, at the door and on that morning's page. There is no price on it and nothing is charged through the book.
- 07Chip inCoffee, the room, or a thank you to Patricia Chunn for opening Willow Tree Events every Monday. Hers goes straight to her.
- 08Amanda's viewThis morning's count, the full roster with contact details, who has the coffee on which Monday, and the Monday post already written.
Everyone in this book apart from Amanda and Kate is made up, so you can see it full. That is also why the portraits are engraved plates instead of photographs: a made-up name never gets a real person’s face. On the first Monday those become the room’s own portraits, taken at the door.
The shout outs in here are between those made-up members only, for the same reason. Amanda and Kate are real businesses, so nothing goes on their pages that a real person did not actually say.
This walkthrough has no sign-in, so you can wander it and be whoever you like. The live book is the opposite: members pick their own password, reset it themselves by email, and the room is behind that door where a search engine cannot reach it.
